Keeping up with working from home during this pandemic is a new phase of life that can take a large toll on one’s emotions. Trying to keep up with sudden virtual meetings and an untimed work pace is a new ball game entirely that you have to adjust to. How can we get used to the ‘new normal’ without stepping on your emotions? Here a a few ways you can keep cool in such working conditions.

 1. Give yourself a break.

I can understand that working from home has a different timing with working from the office. While there may be stipulated times for break, closure and beginning you won’t have that stated while you work from home. To avoid any form of break down give yourself time to ease off; take a walk, stretch your body.

 2.  Give yourself a time to start work for the day

 Having no time to begin work rigidly as it is in the office shouldn’t make you so lax. Aim for productivity and give your self a time that suits you after having a good night rest to unwind.

 3.  Know when to stop for the day

In a bid to achieve more or seem productive, don’t lose your mind. Assign your self tasks to be worked on within a stipulated time and gladly carry over any work you couldn’t finish to the next day.

 4. Be mindful of time zones

  Ensure that the meetings you organise fall in sync with your partners in other countries so they can join in. You wouldn’t want to get frustrated after scheduling a meeting that many can not join in.

 5.  Check in on your friends virtually

 There has never been a better moment for virtual meetings with friends than during this pandemic. While the pandemic has stopped you from visiting your loved ones, the good news is that you can still connect with them through several digital platforms. Don’t miss out on fun while trying to be productive at work. Make time to connect with your colleagues and friends to stay happy.

 6. Create an after work daily routine

Asides work you need to have a life! Have time to meditate, listen to music, dance, read and do some exercise. You have a life after all don’t forget.

Don’t tamper with your emotions while striving to be more productive.
